Neighbourhood Watch Update
Neighbourhood Watch Queensland provides a vital link between Police and the Community and is a state wide program supported by the Crime Prevention Programs Unit, Queensland Police Service. NWRA has been a long-term supporter of Neighbourhood Watch.
John Reid, our current Neighbourhood Watch Area Coordinator, was involved with the initial set up of NWRA in 1997 and subsequently became involved with Neighbourhood Watch in the area. He has held the position of Area Coordinator for the last 5 years and has advised he will not be standing for re-election as Area Coordinator at this year’s AGM to be held in conjunction with the NWRA AGM in October 2026. Please be aware that, if no nominations are received for the Area Coordinator position, the Noosa Waters Neighbourhood Watch group will cease to operate and will need to be closed.
John has provided some additional detail in the paragraph below.

Noosa Waters Neighbourhood Watch (NWNW) Notice
The executive positions of Area Coordinator, Secretary and Treasurer for NWNW will be declared vacant at the AGM and nominations are called for these positions. Nominations may be made prior to or at the AGM. The positions of Area Coordinator and Treasurer are mandatory and I confirm that, as the incumbent Area Coordinator, I am unable to re-stand.
Neighbourhood Watch Queensland has the goal of reducing crime and improving the safety of all people who live, visit and do business in neighbourhoods. In Noosa Waters, it has important additional roles to compliment the excellent work of the Residents Association in building a unique and inclusive community, and these roles include :
· Maintaining a network of Zone and Block Coordinators
· Monitoring safety and wellbeing of existing residents
· Welcoming new residents
· Making new residents aware of the NWRA and the website which includes NWNW information and notices
· Monitoring the Queensland Police advice on crime and scams and issuing warnings on the website and through direct emails
