Blokes Lunch

Dear Noosa Waters Residents,

As we reflect on the vibrant tapestry of community life here in Noosa Waters, it's heartening to acknowledge the traditions that have woven us together over the years. One such tradition that has stood the test of time is the Noosa Waters Blokes Lunch, a monthly gathering that has become a cornerstone of camaraderie and connection within our community.

The roots of the Blokes Lunch stretch back to 2009 when Barry Maloney saw an opportunity to bring the men of Noosa Waters together over a simple yet profound gesture - LUNCH. What began as a modest idea quickly gained momentum, with monthly gatherings offering two-course meals in local eateries, complemented by spirited conversations and shared laughter. The solitary purpose was clear: to foster fellowship and friendship among neighbours.

Throughout the years, the venues may have changed, but the spirit of the Blokes Lunch remained unwavering. From the bustling streets of Noosaville to the tranquil country vistas of Eumundi, each location added its own flavour to the experience. Whether it was a cozy cafe in Doonan or a bustling pub in Tewantin, every venue welcomed our group with open arms, providing a relaxed atmosphere and quality meals for all to enjoy.

It is with deep gratitude that we extend our appreciation to David Brown, who has carried the torch of the Blokes Lunch with dedication and care over the past nine years. His unwavering commitment to fostering camaraderie and community spirit has touched the lives of many, and we are immensely thankful for his efforts” Tony Gerrard

As we look ahead to the future, we are reminded that the Blokes Lunch is not just a gathering of Noosa Waters residents but a celebration of community that transcends boundaries. With an average of 40 attendees each month, including former residents and friends from neighbouring communities, it's clear that the Blokes Lunch has become a beloved institution within the broader Noosa community that is set to live on under the guidance of three of our group who are keen to see our special program continue.
